Bio

I grew up beneath the warm porticos of Havana, where stories were shared like daily coffee, tenderly, with emotion, and a hint of mystery. Since childhood, I’ve known that writing is my way of inhabiting the world. It was in Amsterdam; the city that has shaped and embraced me for more than half my life, where I learned to channel that impulse into cinema, studying screenwriting at the Nederlandse Filmacademie.

My creative process is rooted in the intersection of careful observation, ongoing research, and a spiritual search that accompanies me in every project. I’m drawn to stories that don’t just live in the mind but invite us to feel; narratives that make room for silence, contradiction, desire, and transformation. I don’t seek quick answers, but truths that slowly reveal themselves. I can work on a project for years because I believe in the insights that the passing of time can bring us.

After years of stepping away from the film world to lose myself in the quiet of prose, I returned with new eyes and a clearer sense of how I wish to shape my stories. In 2024, I turned a new page and directed my first short film.

At the moment, I’m finalizing post-production on Alma, a short film about the liberating power of forgiveness. I’m also writing the script for Boss Lady, a story exploring feminine intimacy within a world ruled by the image of success. And I’m self-publishing my debut novel, La Ceiba del Deseo, a coming-of-age tale that delves into unconditional love, identity, and the desire to change the world for the better.

Beyond creating, I share what I learn. I teach screenwriting and filmmaking workshops, guided by intuition and the wish to walk alongside others on their creative path.
